I Have Decided to Go Look for My Father

Gu Xi posted that to her chatgroup with Gu Yanxiao and the others along with a complacent big white goose emoji.

[Gu Chenyi]: Second Uncle is going?

[Gu Xi]: Yes.

[What were you guys talking about?] asked Gu Xi.

Flipping through the chat, she noticed that during her absence, Gu Chenyi, Gu Yanxiao, and Gu Yanlin who was there just for the fun of it had already typed over 100 lines, many of them were links.

[Gu Yanxiao]: We were talking about whether we should have team uniforms for the day of the Quality Development Outing.

As many of the parents would be there on the day of, many family would picked family or parent/child outfits.

[The kind that others will instantly be able to tell that we belong to the same family.] Gu Chenyi added.

Gu Yanlin posted a link at this point. [This one is bad. It meets all of your needs.]

Gu Xi clicked opened the link and she saw: Playground team outfit (Size: Large).

The product page even have a photo of a group of aunties on the playground dancing with fans in their heads all in the same style of fuchsia polo team shirts with modified silk sleeves.

Gu Xi had no idea what had happened. When she returned to the chatgroup, she noticed that where the group that had 4 people before was now down to 3.

[Gu Xi]: Little big brother, you’ve kicked out Big Brother?

[Gu Yanxiao]: Mmhmm.

[Gu Chenyi]: Big Brother is jealous. That’s why he was messing around with us.

[Gu Xi]: Can’t Big Brother come with us?

She didn’t recall that there were rules against older brothers to come with. Not to mention that Gu Yanlin was an outstanding graduate that the teachers at school were still talking about to this date.

[It seemed that Big Brother and a few others from his team needed to head to Country M to do some testing. He won’t be able to make the Quality Development Outing.] Gu Yanxiao explained.

“Oh, I see……” said Gu Xi to herself.

Come to think about it, Gu Yanlin’s buddies in Country M seemed to have given them quite a bit of help on their project on Tianchuang Competition.

[Gu Chenyi]: That’s why we can just pick among ourselves. We don’t need to take his opinion into consideration. Haha.

Having said that, Gu Chenyi posted a few more links of team uniforms to the group.

Sure enough, these were much better than the team uniform for playground dance.

Looking at the uniform that the other two had found, Gu Xi, too, couldn't help but look for some parent/child outfits online.

As they were going to the outdoor Quality Development Outing, Gu Xi looking at mostly casual clothes that were suitable for activities. One set for Gu Shao and one for herself.

She thought about what Gu Shao normally looked like in his suit and suddenly wasn’t so sure.

“What if he didn’t like them……” Gu Xi mumbled to herself while looking at the several outfits that she had picked out.

What she didn’t know was that Gu Shao, too, was online looking for parent/child outfit on the other side of the wall.

Within a few days, Gu Xi didn’t just read all sorts of tips and hints for Quality Development Outing online, she had further put together a long list of tips and hints herself.

Dong Mingming had provided her with a list of items that she would want to bring with her to the Quality Development Outing but, before Gu Xi could place the order, Gu Yanxiao and Gu Chenyi had already had all of the items prepared.

Having no other choices, Gu Xi only bought a set of parent/child outfit for Gu Shao and herself.

The set of outfit finally arrived 3 days later.

There was a total of 4 sets along with the ones that Gu Yanxiao and Gu Chenyi had bought.

A red and white checkered set, a charcoal grey set, a set with bizarre emojis, and Gu Xi’s favorite set with cats.

She was a little worried when she presented the set to Gu Shao. She worried that he would find the resentful.

In reality, Gu Shao’s reactions were a little different than she had expected.

Gu Shao looked surprised when he saw the team outfit that Gu Xi had presented to him.

“When did you buy that?”

“A couple of days ago.” Gu Xi looked at Gu Shao after she had said that and asked, “I think we can wear them during the Quality Development Outing, what do you think?”

“Alright.” Gu Shao agreed to it.

“What are you smiling about?” asked Gu Shao when he saw the goofy look on Gu Xi.

“I worried that you’d find it childish.”

“No.”

Granted, the cartoon and goofy style did not look like anything that Gu Shao would normally wear.

Gu Shao, too, had someone prepared a couple sets of parent/child outfit except that they were more normal ones that were more similar to Gu Shao’s usual style.

That being said, what could he do if his daughter liked this style? He would have to enable her, of course.
